
A Park City man was arrested Thursday after Glasgow Police and other law enforcement groups investigated reports of a suspicious device located at a home on Redwood Street.
Jeffery Neal, 48, was charged with third-degree use of weapon of mass destruction.
Officers said they were able to locate an explosive device inside a closet at the home. The device was later determined to be a pipe bomb, according to FBI and Kentucky State Police units, who also responded to the scene.
Police said the bomb was safely removed from the home and was cleared around 9:30 p.m. Officers also located two handguns inside a vehicle at the home along with two handguns inside the home.
There were no more explosive devices located and all the residents that were evacuated were allowed back to their homes, according to police.
The Glasgow Police Department was assisted by the Kentucky State Police, FBI, and ATF.
Neal was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center under a $50,000 cash bond. He has scheduled to appear in court on January 30.
