A 16-year-old North Hardin High School student was arrested Monday (04/21) after police found he had a handgun inside the building.
John Wright, a spokesperson for Hardin County Schools, said the school was put on a hard lockdown around 2:30 p.m. Monday on the report of a student with a weapon. No students were permitted to leave their classrooms, and all students and staff were secured.
The school resource officer and officers from the Radcliff Police Department responded, and the lockdown was lifted after the student was found to have a handgun and arrested.
Radcliff Police Chief Jeff Cross said the boy is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school property, possession of a handgun by a minor and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
