A man is facing several charges after law enforcement found illegal substances and more inside an Oak Grove residence Monday.
Detectives with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office Anti-Crime Unit and CID Agents from Fort Campbell executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Gail Street in Oak Grove following a months-long investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, detectives recovered two handguns — a Taurus 9mm with restricted ammunition and a Ruger .380 — along with marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, cocaine, suspected fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and rolling papers.
The homeowner, 52-year-old Lewis H. Ohara, was taken into custody at the scene. He admitted all of the items belonged to him and acknowledged he was a convicted felon who was not allowed to possess firearms.
He also shared with investigators he had only seven months left on supervision after serving a 36-year sentence.
“We are committed to working with our partners to get dangerous drugs and weapons off the streets,” said Sheriff Tyler DeArmond in a release. “Today’s arrest is the result of solid teamwork between our deputies and the agents at Fort Campbell.”
Ohara was lodged in the Christian County Jail without bond and is facing multiple charges, including:
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Trafficking in Marijuana (First Offense)
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, First Offense (Carfentanil or Fentanyl Derivatives)
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, First Degree, First Offense (Cocaine)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Second Degree, First Offense (Hallucinogen)
Using Restricted Ammunition During the Commission of a Felony (No Shots Fired).
