An Elizabethtown man has been arrested and charged after police say he strangled a woman after shoving her onto their child.
Joshua Lee Fisher, 26, was arrested Wednesday and faces multiple charges stemming from a reported domestic violence incident with a woman.
According to Fisher’s citation report, police responded to a home on Village Drive in Elizabethtown in reference to a physical domestic violence issue.
The victim reported she and the defendant got into a verbal argument over their children.
It turned physical when Fisher open hand pushed the victim in the face, knocking her down onto the couch and onto their child, all while trying to retrieve the woman’s phone from her hand, according to the citation report.
The victim tried telling Fisher to leave but was unsuccessful.
According to the citation report, Fisher placed his hand around the woman’s throat and shoved her to the ground, impeding her breathing. While on the ground, Fisher told the woman “you need to learn your place.”
Fisher threatened the woman with more serious repercussions if she called anyone, according to the police report.
Fisher was later found and arrested. He is charged with fourth-degree assault — dating violence, minor injury; second-degree strangulation — domestic violence related; intimidating a participant in the legal process; and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Fisher is being held in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond at the Hardin County Detention Center.
