Officials are investigating after a plane crashed in Hardinsburg Thursday (7/24) morning.
Authorities were notified of the crash around 10 AM CDT near just west of the Breckinridge County Airport. Officials said the LANCE air single engine plane went down in a valley about a half mile north of the Breckinridge County Board of Education Central Office, not far from the end of the airport’s runway. The two occupants were already out of the plane by the time emergency personnel arrived at the scene, then were taken from the scene to area hospitals for treatment by Breck Central EMS. Upon initial reports the plane came into contact with power lines during the crash.
The area around the crash site was secured with traffic restricted along Airport Road for a while. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are leading the investigation.
