Mary Settle Stephens, age 90, passed away on August 25, 2026.
She was born on February 2, 1936, in Hawesville, to the late Virgil and Johnye Scherer. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Settle, her second husband, Billy Stephens, daughter, Barbara Settle, two siblings, Charles Scherer and Patricia Bass, a grandson, a step-son, Gerald Stephens, and 2 step-grandchildren.
She is survived by…
Three daughters: Debbie Turner, Brenda Mitchum and Dianne Schleicher;
One grandson, 3 great-granddaughters, several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
There was no public visitation or service. Private graveside service was held at Buck Grove Cemetery.
Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg was entrusted with the arrangements.
