
Kentucky State Police responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Cloverport around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, involving an 11-year-old child.
Kentucky State Police Post 4 Troopers and other emergency personnel responded to the scene on Elm Street near the intersection of Seventh Street in Cloverport. The child was transported by helicopter to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville with life-threatening injuries.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the child succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Jefferson County Coroner at 9:12 p.m.
The preliminary investigation indicates 11-year-old child Kolton Worden was riding a scooter and entered Elm Street, traveling into the path of a passenger vehicle operated by 22 year-old Dalton Kellems, of Cloverport. Kellems stopped and remained at the scene to render aid to the child.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by Cloverport Police Department, Breckinridge County EMS, Hardinsburg Police Department and the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation remains ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
