
A Scottsville man is facing charges following allegations of sexual contact with a teen.
Friday, the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force arrested 23-year-old Terry Allen Markhart of Scottsville following an investigation into allegations involving sexual contact with a 14-year-old at the time, according to a media release. The investigation began after detectives got tips of an incident that happened in the summer of 2024 when the victim was 14-years-old and Markhart was 21-years-old.
As part of the investigation, detectives interviewed the victim’s mother and Markhart, officials, according to officials. Markhart was arrested shortly after and charged with unlawful transaction with a minor, first-degree illegal sex act, victim under 18-years of age, and sodomy, third-degree.
Markhart was taken to the Allen County Detention Center.
Officials said the Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force remains committed to investigating crimes involving children and working with our law enforcement partners to help protect victims in our community.
