A man and a woman are facing multiple felony charges after police said they brutally beat and robbed a woman at gunpoint outside a Fern Creek McDonald’s, discharging a firearm in the process.
Alex Jordan, 38, and Margare Wells, 44, were arrested by Louisville Metro Police on Thursday, September 3. Jordan is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun. Wells is charged with complicity to the same offenses.
According to arrest citations, the incident unfolded on the afternoon of September 2 outside the McDonald’s at 5630 Bardstown Road. Police said Jordan and Wells engaged in a verbal altercation with a woman before Jordan pulled out a handgun, pointed it at her and demanded her personal belongings.
Jordan then repeatedly struck the victim on the head with the butt end of the handgun, while Wells punched and kicked her during the physical struggle. As the pair searched through the victim’s property, Jordan’s handgun discharged a single round toward her.
The victim survived the attack but sustained multiple head lacerations, swelling to her forehead and cheekbone, arm lacerations and back pain. Officers recovered one shell casing at the scene and identified the suspects using video surveillance.
Records show Wells has a history of misdemeanor theft convictions and had an active failure-to-appear warrant at the time of her arrest. Jordan is also a convicted felon in Kentucky with multiple prior burglary and fleeing charges.
A judge set Jordan’s bond at $100,000 cash and Wells’ bond at $50,000 cash. Both are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Monday, September 14, in Jefferson District Court.
