A 36 year-old Louisville man was indicted by a grand jury on dozens of felony charges, including multiple counts of rape and sodomy.
Robert Lee Carter Jr. was indicted on May 28 in Jefferson Circuit Court.
According to court records, Carter faces a total of 26 charges, which include:
Six counts of first-degree sodomy involving a victim under 12
Four counts of first-degree rape involving a victim under 12
Four counts of first-degree sexual abuse involving a victim under 12
One count of first-degree sexual abuse
One count of second-degree rape with no force
One count of incest involving forcible compulsion, an inability to consent, or a victim under 18
One count of distributing obscene material to minors, first offense
An active warrant of arrest on indictment was issued on May 28, and a cash bond was set at $250,000.
Carter was arrested September 3 and is scheduled to be arraigned September 8.
