A suspect has been arrested in connection to a body found inside a box in Fairdale earlier this month.
Derrek Roark, 39, of Clearfield, Kentucky turned himself in to authorities in Montgomery County on Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant charges Roark with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
Jeffrey David Kingdon, 55, was found inside a box in the 3000 block of South Park Road on October 13. His last known address was Fort Worth, Texas.
The criminal complaint against Roark says Kingdon died from a suspected drug overdose between October 10 and October 13. Before Kingdon died, the complaint says Roark performed CPR and revived him. A witnesses at the scene wanted to call police to get help for Kingdon, but Roark would not let him.
Detectives said they found Kingdon’s clothes at Roark’s residence. They also found items showing that Roark tried to conceal what happened.
