A death investigation at a Louisville motel has turned into a homicide investigation.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said 28 year-old Thomas Joseph Grismer was choked to death early Friday (11/13) morning at the Red Roof Inn at 2704 Preston Highway.
A 911 hang up call from the motel led to police being sent to the scene just before 3 a.m. on Friday. When officers arrived, they requested EMS. A short time later, the dispatcher said, the officers requested the Homicide Unit to respond.
One person is in custody. Officials believe the victim and suspect did know one another.
Police say the suspect is cooperating.
