
The Shoreline Management Plan for Barren River, Nolin River, and Rough River lakes is currently undergoing a periodic review and update. A draft of the plan will be available for public review and comment for a 30 day period began November 18, 2015 and will end on December 17, 2015.The draft plan and summary of significant changes being made to the plan are available upon request by contacting the aforementioned project offices directly and are currently available online at http://www.lrl.usace.army.mil/Missions/CivilWorks/Recreation/Shoreline/NBR.aspx.
Park managers and rangers will be available at each project office between the hours of 5 until 8 p.m. on December 4th, and 8 a.m. until Noon on December 12th and December 14th to discuss the draft plan. Only comments submitted in writing or via email will be considered in the final revision of the plan. Comments must be postmarked or emailed no later than midnight on December 17, 2015. Comments can also be hand delivered to one of the project offices before the close of business on December 17th. Once the plan is posted for public review, a moratorium will be placed on acceptance of applications for new facilities that are governed by the plan. The moratorium will remain in effect until all comments received during the public comment period are addressed, and an approved plan is published.
