An Elizabethtown man facing 12 felony charges involving a minor will appear January 26 in Hardin Circuit Court for a pre-trial conference.
Stephen Todd Hines of Stovall Road was arrested in September. He was indicted in July by a Hardin County grand jury and was taken into custody in Louisville.
Hines, 25, is facing five charges of first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, a Class B felony, punishable by up to 20 years in prison on each charge, if convicted. He also faces five counts of second-degree rape — no force, a Class C felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, if convicted, and two Class C felony charges of second-degree sodomy.
By statute, second-degree rape is the charge when an adult has intercourse with a child 14 years old or younger.
Hines has been held since September 21 in the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000 cash bond.
He appeared last week in Hardin Circuit Court to face the charges.
