
A 52-year-old White Mills man was formally sentenced to 30 years in prison Tuesday (12/01) morning in Hardin Circuit court for sex crimes against a teen-aged girl, who he impregnated in 2014. The girl was 13 when the sexual activity began, according to authorities.
Eugene Edward Hunt was sentenced to 20 years to serve to run concurrent for three of the unlawful transaction counts and 10 years on the fourth to run consecutive to the first sentence, as part of a plea agreement. He also received a five-year sentence for each of six counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor to run concurrently with the other two sentences.
Three counts of second-degree rape and one count of second-degree sodomy were dismissed. If the case had gone to trial, Hunt faced up to 70 years in prison.
According to his indictment, the sexual activity began February 14, 2014. The possession charges date back to October 2013.
According to Hunt’s 2014 arrest citation, he told police “he is in love with the victim and would marry her right now and take care of her and the unborn child.”
The relationship started while Hunt lived with the girl’s family, according to the arrest report. The teen had the child.
