New Albany police say just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to the Waffle House on West Spring Street. When officers arrived they found a man identified as 24 year-old Charles Fischback IV of Lanesville, Indiana on the ground near a vehicle in the parking lot. A preliminary investigation showed he had been shot.
Fischback was immediately transported by EMS to University of Louisville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
