A multivehicle crash has claimed the life of a Kentucky Transportation Cabinet employee and resulted in the injury of another.
Titus Morris, 34, of Scottsville died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash. The other transportation cabinet worker, 56 year-old Jeffrey Harrison of Scottsville was taken by Allen County EMS to the Medical Center in Bowling Green for non-life threatening injuries.
The incident occurred Tuesday morning around 9:43 a.m. CST in the 1500 block of US 31-E New Glasgow Road just north of Scottsville in Allen County. The Kentucky State Police’s preliminary investigation indicates that a bumper hitch trailer traveling south came loose and struck a northbound pickup truck. The collision caused the pickup truck to spin out of control and strike the two workers that were on the Bays Creek Bridge conducting maintenance.
Titus Morris, a Highway Equipment Operator IV with the Allen County maintenance facility, was a 15-year employee of the cabinet. Jeffery Harrison started working for the Cabinet in July 2006.
The last transportation cabinet work-related fatality occurred in Magoffin County in January 2011.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police Post 3 office in Bowling Green.
