
An Elizabethtown man has been charged in the stabbing death of another Hardin County man.
According to the Hardin County Sheriff John Ward, officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the 1700 block of Copelin Road near White Mills just after 5 p.m. Wednesday (12/30). Upon arrival, the body of 68 year-old Richard Lundy was found inside his home with three stab wounds and a large knife near him.
The suspect, 47 year-old Tracy Bevers, fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. He later drove to Louisville Metro Police Department headquarters and confessed to the crime.
Bevars was transported back to Hardin County where he was booked into the Hardin County Detention Center just after 10 p.m. and charged with murder, theft by unlawful taking of a vehicle of more than $500 but less than $10,000, failure to appear and non-payment of fines.
He is scheduled to appear January 4 in Hardin District Court.
