
Police in western Kentucky counties were involved in search for a man wanted for alleged felonies near Owensboro.
Around 1:45 pm Monday, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department was notified that Daviess County police were searching for Heath Napier of Hartford had allegedly committed the felonies while armed with a handgun.
A deputy witnessed Napier pass another car on a double yellow which almost caused him to strike another vehicle head on. Napier then sped through Fordsville on Highway 54.
Once officers were behind Napier, he pulled into a cemetery on Highway north 69, where he told officers that he had seen them slow down, and assumed he they were looking for him. Napier said that’s when he attempted to elude them.
Napier was taken into custody and charged for Fleeing and Evading Police, 1st degree (motor vehicle), Reckless Driving, and expired registration.
Napier has pending charges in Daviess County.
