A single vehicle accident near Custer sent a Garfield woman to the hospital Sunday night (1/10).
According to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 7:20 pm in the 14,000 block of Highway 690 near the Custer School.
A 2012 Honda Civic driven by 22 year Yadira McKimm of Garfield came upon a slick spot in the road and lost control and hit an embankment.
McKimm was taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital by Breck Central EMS. Breckinridge County Sheriff Deputy Jeff Hendricks was assisted at the scene by Deputy Billy Richardson and the Harned and McDaniels Fire Departments. The roadway was closed about 45 minutes as crews worked to cleanup the scene.
