A La Grange man was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 in Henry County.
Andrew Persanyi, 74, died at the scene of the accident, which occurred at the 25-mile marker.
The crash happened just before 6 a.m. when, according to a preliminary investigation by the Kentucky State Police, the vehicle Persanyi was driving was struck by another vehicle. Both vehicles left the roadway and the one driven by Persanyi overturned, resulting in his ejection. Persanyi, who was pronounced dead at the scene by the Henry County Coroner, was not wearing his seatbelt.
The operator of the other vehicle was transported by law enforcement to La Grange’s Baptist Health Hospital, where a blood test was performed due to the fact that the collision was a fatality.
The accident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
