Louisville Metro Police arrested a woman for pawning thousands of dollars in jewelry that wasn’t her own.
Jennifer Seviour, 37, is charged with receiving stolen property worth more than $10,000.
According to the arrest report, in early June, the victim realized she was missing several pieces from her jewelry collection at her residence and notified police. During that time, Seviour had received that property and pawned it at Little John’s Derby Jewelry at 3029 South 4th Street.
Seviour pawned around $22,000 worth of jewelry consisting of a diamond watch worth $14,000 and a diamond bracelet and ring that were both valued at $4,000.
When Seviour pawned the jewelry she gave the shop a valid driver’s license, which the store made a copy of. The license, along with a copy of store transaction tickets, identifying information and description of the jewelry pawned, led police back to Seviour.
The victim was able to positively identify all three pieces of jewelry as her own property.
