A man has been arrested for leaving the scene of a crash that killed a former University of Louisville cheerleader early Saturday morning.
The crash was reported around 3 a.m. Saturday. According to a Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman, a black Honda Accord was traveling east on Interstate 64 when it attempted to exit onto the Gene Snyder southbound ramp. The car flipped and ejected 25-year-old Shanae Moorman.
Moorman was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:10 a.m. of multiple blunt-force injuries sustained in an ejection, according to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner.
A spokesman for UofL said she was a former student and cheerleader who was last at the school in 2014.
Initially it was believed Moorman was the only person in the car at the time of the accident, however, further investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department Traffic Unit revealed a second person was also in the vehicle.
Bradley Allen Caraway, 34, was later arrested in connection to the crash. He was charged with the felony of leaving the scene of an accident and with having no insurance. It has not been determined whether he was the passenger or the driver of the vehicle.
No factors have been ruled out as far as speed or any other type of impairment.
