A south-central Kentucky man has been charged with murder in the death of a woman whose body was found in a container floating in the Green River last month.
According to the Kentucky State Police, 53-year-old Clark W. Smith of Cave City was also charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse. Smith was arrested as his home Friday.
The body of 22-year-old Kristen Edwards of Barren County was found July 23 by someone fishing in the river in Hart County.
Smith is being held in the Barren County jail.
The case remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
