A shot was fired at members of a Louisville Metro Police Department SWAT team early Tuesday morning, and several of them were exposed to a chemical substance while serving a narcotics warrant, according to a Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman.
No one was hit by gunfire, but the SWAT team members who were exposed to the chemical were taken to a hospital for observation.
The incident began about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 of Vim Drive where the SWAT team and officers with the LMPD Sixth Division were attempting to serve the warrant. Investigators suspected there was a marijuana grow operation in the home.
LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said four adults, two teenagers, and two younger children were inside the home at the time and the SWAT team did not return fire when it was fired on.
The adults arrested are 35 year-old Candy Hudson, 23 year-old Carlee Anderson, 37 year-old Walter Lee Hudson and 20 year-old Donovin L. Hudson, all of Louisville. Each is charged with cultivation of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Walter Hudson and Donovin Hudson are also charged with trafficking in marijuana, while Walter Hudson faces an additional charge for possession of meth and four counts of wanton endangerment. Two teens, ages 17 and 15, are charged with cultivation of marijuana; they were released to their grandparents.
All will be arraigned Wednesday at Louisville Metro Corrections.
