A three vehicle accident on Western Kentucky Parkway in Hardin County sent two people to the hospital Tuesday (10/04) afternoon.
Deputies from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and Firemen from the White Mills Volunteer Fire Department were working an accident that had previously occurred at the 128 mile marker westbound. The Fire truck and Sheriff’s vehicle were parked in the right hand lane and the shoulder of the Parkway with emergency equipment activated.
For unknown reasons, a 2011 Forrest River Mobile Home RV operated by 69 year-old William Baker and passenger 68 year-old Ladonna Baker both of Grand Island, Nebraska, didn’t see the emergency vehicles.
The RV slammed into the back of the unattended fire truck which then slammed into the unattended Sheriff’s car.
Both of the Bakers were airlifted to the University Of Louisville Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Kentucky State Police was assisted on the scene by the Stephensburg Fire Department, Elizabethtown Fire Department and the State Department Of Transportation.
The accident remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
