
Police stopped a man walking along interstate 65 and caused a ruckus that forced police to shut down the interstate and eventually arrested him .
Kentucky State Police stopped to assist 44-year-old Dwayne Edwards of Nashville who was walking along Interstate 65 near Franklin on Friday morning.
According to officials, Edwards became combative during the assist, and when police tried to make an arrest, Edwards entered the travel portion of the interstate that made officers shut it down for a brief period of time.
Edwards was taken into custody and taken to the Franklin Medical Center.
Officials say Edwards was under the influence of drugs during the time they were trying to assist him.
Upon investigation, police found a large amount of cocaine and money.
Edwards was lodged in the Simpson County Detention under a $3,000 cash bond on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree.
