
The Meade County Board of Education worked through a lengthy agenda during their regular monthly meeting Tuesday (6/13) night.
Board members approved the routine monthly and end of year expenses. They also approved a contract with Lincoln Trail Health department for immunization services. Members approved the receipt of the 2017 Board policies, procedures and employee handbooks.
Tommy Adams of Education Risk Solutions in Bowling Green, presented the Board with recommendations of renewing current insurance policies with Liberty Mutual. He recommended a change of worker’s compensation coverage to Church Mutual. Board members approved the $447,169 proposal. The Board approved payment for land surveys at the Stuart Pepper Middle School and Payneville Elementary School campuses for future construction projects.
Superintendent Dr. John Millay reported progress on the Area Technology Center continues well. He also various maintenance is being done district wide during summer break. The Summer Feeding program has started strong and summer practices are going well in preparation for the upcoming school year.
At the end of the meeting, board members met in closed session to discuss possible land acquisition and to conduct the Superintendent evaluation.
