
One person was injured in a five car accident near Flaherty Monday (7/10) evening.
According to the Meade County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 6:40 pm on Kentucky 313 just south of Shircliff Road. A vehicle went into traffic and struck four other vehicles, resulting in the driver of the first vehicle to be treated at the scene for his injuries by Meade County EMS and then airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Methods Air Ambulance. Kentucky 313 was closed over an hour as emergency crews worked to clear up the wreckage.
Five others involved in the accident refused medical treatment at the scene. The Meade County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Flaherty Fire Department.
The accident remains under investigation.
