Motorists in portions of Meade and Hardin Counties can expect delays and detours this week.
Installation of a new box culvert will require closure of KY 823 just west of KY 2734 in Meade County. Work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. EDT Wednesday (9/26). Work should be complete in about a week with the road open by October 3rd. Work at this location will be weather dependent. Motorists can utilize KY 477, KY 376 and KY 2734 as a detour.
Also on Wednesday (9/26) Phillips Brothers Contracting will begin hauling material to construct the east end of the embankment for the KY 313 Bridge over the P&L Railroad as apart of the widening project in Hardin County. In order to perform this work, construction equipment will need to cross West Lincoln Trail Boulevard at the intersection with KY 313.
This process is expected to take up to three weeks, depending on weather. Motorists need to be aware of crossing construction traffic. Message boards, signs and flaggers will be present during work hours.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District Four’s Traffic Crew will also be monitoring the signal at this intersection and will make adjustments as needed.
