In the interest of safe patient care and limiting COVID-19 exposure risks, many Ireland Army Health Clinic services will be unavailable beginning Monday, until further notice, according to information from Fort Knox. Additionally, some services will switch to a virtual appointment.
All routine appointments in chiropractic, optometry, audiology and allergy are canceled. Mission-critical work will continue for occupational therapy and physical therapy, but routine appointments also are canceled. Mammography and ultrasound services also are discontinued, but diagnostic plain film radiological services will continue.
If a patient is in need of any service curtailed, Ireland will facilitate appointments through referrals to partners in its integrated healthcare system.
Primary care, nutrition, clinical pharmacy and behavioral health will transition to virtual appointments with subsequent face-to-face appointments determined by the treatment team.
Ireland’s lab services will continue as normal.
The Clinic Pharmacy is adopting the same drop-off and pick-up only procedures previously introduced at Fort Knox’s Bitner Pharmacy.
Clients will no longer be allowed to wait inside the clinic while prescriptions are filled. Patients will be notified when their medications are ready for pick up.
Up-to-date information about the Ireland clinic is available to beneficiaries through its Facebook and Twitter feeds.
If you believe you are getting sick, the clinic’s release said the first action for its patients should be calling 502-626-9997 or contacting the TRICARE Nurse Advice Line at 800-874-2273 or MHSNurseAdviceLine.com.
