A TARC bus crashed into a barbershop in the west end on Sunday morning, but no one was seriously injured.
Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said officers responded to a crash at the intersection of South 22nd and Market streets, near the Portland and Russell neighborhoods, around 7:30 a.m. Police said a passenger vehicle traveling southbound on 22nd Street ran a traffic light and hit a TARC bus that was traveling westbound on Market Street.
The bus tried to avoid the car but was hit, and the resulting collision caused the bus to crash into a nearby building, according to Alex Posorske, TARC Director of Marketing and Communications. The driver of the bus was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Two passengers were riding the bus, one refused treatment on scene while the other was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Mitchell said the driver and passenger in the other vehicle were taken to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by Louisville Metro Police Department’s First Division.
