Meade County Sheriff Detectives arrested two fugitives Wednesday (05/22) morning after an attempted traffic stop and a short pursuit.
At approximately 10 a.m. detectives attempted to stop a vehicle being operated by a wanted fugitive, 51 year-old Anthony Stout of Muldraugh. Stout immediately fled from detectives traveling north on Flaherty Road continuing to KY 1600, where he turned left onto Sandridge Road. Stout drove around the mobile home park near Sandy Lane multiple times trying to avoid detectives. The vehicle then traveled down Sandridge Road and pulled behind a radio tower site where Stout and his passenger, 38 year-old Tabitha Scrogham of Brandenburg, also a fugitive, fled on foot attempting to avoid apprehension. The suspects fled a short way on foot before being apprehended by Detectives.
A search of the subjects and their vehicle revealed a 9mm handgun and numerous suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Stout is being charged with Fleeing and Evading Motor Vehicle 1st Degree, Fleeing Evading 2nd Degree (Foot), Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun, Enhanced Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree Methamphetamine, Enhanced Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (Hallucinogenic), Enhanced Possession of Marijuana, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (3 counts), as well Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held in the Meade County Detention Center under a $10,000 cash bond.
Scrogham is being charged with Fleeing Evading 2nd Degree on Foot, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Methamphetamine, Giving Officer False Name or Address, Probation Violation for Felony Offense, as well Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She is being held in the Meade County Detention Center without bond.
Both subjects have outstanding warrants out of Meade County Court.
The investigation will be turned over to the County Attorney and Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
