A woman was killed Tuesday (6/4) afternoon after a head-on accident along the Western Kentucky Parkway in Grayson County.
According to Kentucky State Police, the accident happened near the 116 mile marker around 2:30 pm, when a 2011 Toyota Camry driven by 28 year-old Kelsey Dunn of Elkton was traveling eastbound and lost control of her vehicle during heavy rainfall. Her vehicle crossed the median and came into the path of a westbound semi-tractor trailer. Dunn was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Grayson County Coroner’s Office. The semi operator, George Stup III, 28, of Belton, reported no injuries.
The affected portion of the Western Kentucky Parkway was closed for several hours, and a detour was opened at the 124 mile-marker, in order to allow the investigation of the collision. State Police were assisted at the scene by Grayson County EMS, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Clarkson Volunteer Fire Department.
According to social media posts, Dunn was the band director at North Hardin High School in Radcliff.
The investigation of the accident remains ongoing.
