One of the suspects charged in the shooting death of Louisville Metro Department of Corrections Officer Michael Wehdah has taken a plea deal.
On Thursday, March 27, 2025, 36 year-old Anthony Trabue was arrested and charged with murder. Officer Wehdah’s body was found with gunshot wounds on Cedar Street Sunday morning on February 16, 2025.
Anthony Trabue pleaded guilty to amended charges and was sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison. He will be eligible for parole after serving more than six years, according to reports. Investigators say Trabue was one of three suspects who led Wehdah to an area on Cedar Street, where he was shot and killed.
The other suspects, Kristy Brumley and Brian Ramsey, are still facing charges and are expected in court August 29.
Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson John Bradley said Trabue was taken into custody on March 27, 2025, after a brief standoff with units of LMPD’s Criminal Interdiction Division and LMPD SWAT Team.
Wehdah completed his training and joined Louisville Metro Department of Corrections in November 2024 from the State Department of Corrections. Wehdah immigrated to the Louisville community from Liberia and was a resident for several years along with his wife and teenage son.
