Two people have been arrested and charged after a kidnapping incident took place in Bowling Green.
On Monday, the Bowling Green Police Department responded to reports of a subject with a weapon, according to a police citation.
The subject, identified as 28-year old Michael White Jr., was holding a victim at gunpoint in the back of a vehicle as he was driving to numerous locations around Bowling Green.
The incident began as an argument over $4,000 that the victim allegedly owed White and 33-year-old Ashley Glass, who was the front seat passenger of the vehicle. During this argument, White and Glass each pointed handguns at the victim and did not allow her to leave the car.
The argument then escalated into a physical fight, in which Glass struck the victim in the head with her handgun. The victim has numerous missing teeth.
The victim was eventually able to climb out of a back window of the vehicle when it stopped at a residence on Apache Drive, where she said she was at with White willingly earlier that day.
After officers located White, Glass and the victim at the residence, White complied to officer’s orders, exited the residence and was detained. Glass refused to leave the home for nearly 30 minutes before exiting, and she was also detained.
After the owner of the Apache Drive residence consented to a search, authorities located multiple handguns and a white powder substance consistent with cocaine. Glass later admitted to hitting the victim and said the cocaine was hers.
White had a previous felony conviction and was charged with kidnapping, wanton endangerment and possession of a handgun as a convicted felon.
Glass was charged with kidnapping, wanton endangerment, assault and possession of a controlled substance.
Both were lodged in the Warren County Detention Center.
