A man wanted out of Tennessee was arrested in Logan County on Friday evening following a high-speed chase and a foot pursuit.
Around 5 p.m. Friday, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office located a vehicle matching the description of one used in an alleged prior shoplifting at Farmer’s Home Furniture in Russellville, according to a citation.
When deputies attempted to verify the vehicle, the driver, identified as 41 year-old David Mills of Nashville, Tennessee, began driving erratically, leading the deputy to believe he might be under the influence.
Despite the activation of emergency lights, Mills continued to drive recklessly, prompting a vehicle pursuit.
The chase continued on multiple streets until Mills lost control of the vehicle after a tire blew out.
Mills abandoned the vehicle in a ditch and fled on foot. The foot pursuit ended after Mills lost his footing and sustained injuries to his face, allowing deputies to take him into custody.
Upon his arrest, deputies found crack cocaine on Mills. A search of his vehicle also revealed drug paraphernalia.
Further investigation revealed that Mills had a felony warrant from Tennessee and was driving with a suspended license.
Mills is facing a number of charges, including alleged theft, reckless driving, and drug possession, among others.
He is currently lodged in the Logan County Detention Center under a $10,000 cash bond.
