Louisville police have made a second arrest in the death investigation of Louisville Metro Department of Corrections Officer Michael Wehdah.
On Thursday, March 27, 36 year-old Anthony Trabue was arrested and charged with murder. The arrest comes more than a month after Wehdah’s body was found on Cedar Street Sunday morning on February 16. Police said he had been shot.
Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson John Bradley said Trabue was taken into custody on March 27 after a brief standoff with units of LMPD’s Criminal Interdiction Division and LMPD SWAT Team.
Court documents said on February 16, Trabue shot Wehdah multiple times on Cedar Street after an altercation broke out. Wehdah was brought to the location by 35-year-old Kristy Brumley, who was arrested Tuesday (03/25) and is charged with complicity to murder and tampering with physical evidence.
According to an arrest citation, Brumley admitted to bringing Officer Wehdah to Cedar Street. The citation said she told police she took Wehdah’s car and phone when she left.
During her arraignment on Wednesday, a judge set her bond to $250,000 full cash and Home Incarceration Program if posted. Her next court appearance is scheduled for April 3 at 9 a.m.
Wehdah completed his training and joined Louisville Metro Department of Corrections in November 2024 from the State Department of Corrections. Wehdah immigrated to the Louisville community from Liberia and was a resident for several years along with his wife and teenage son.
