
On Saturday (03/29), around 7 p.m. Bowling Green Police received call of a hit-and-run collision at the 100 block of Riverwood Avenue.
The caller stated there was a female lying in the road and appeared to be unresponsive. Once police arrived to the scene, they spoke with residents in the area.
According to a police report, a witness from the accident stated she made eye contact with the driver of the vehicle and asked the driver if she just ran her over, to which the driver responded “yes, I ran her over”.
The 69-year old women struck by the vehicle was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The report states, 48 year old- Marylynn Elias was the driver of the vehicle. Elias told police that the victim was standing in the roadway when Elias approached her in her vehicle. Elias advised she stopped her vehicle when the victim began to hit the vehicle.
According to Elias, a brief verbal argument ensued before she left the scene. Elias advised that she dropped off the people in her vehicle and spoke to her husband about the incident.
After speaking with her husband, she felt bad and returned to the scene. Elias stated she left the scene because she did not have a license and was scared of getting arrested and the vehicle being taken.
Elias was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail under a $25,000 cash bond. Investigators are working to find out if there is any video evidence of the collision.
