A Radcliff man is behind bars after a collision with bicyclists left multiple people injured.
On May 5, Christian County Sheriff’s deputies and Hopkinsville Police responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle and four bicyclists in the 1000 block of Pembroke Road.
When first responders arrived, they found two of the cyclists unresponsive, both suffering from significant injuries.
The driver, 30-year-old Isaiah Edwards, admitted to law enforcement he was distracted while driving. Further investigation revealed that he displayed multiple signs of impairment during roadside sobriety testing administered by deputies. He later admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that morning.
He was placed under arrest based on his performance during field sobriety and drug recognition evaluations.
Edwards has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance – 3rd Offense (Aggravating Circumstance). He was transported to the Christian County Jail without further incident. He is being held under a $100,000 cash bond.
The collision remains under investigation by the Hopkinsville Police Department.
