
The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding an escaped inmate.
According to a social media post made by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, the inmate escaped from another county’s custody while being transported to Nelson County Jail, and is believed to be on foot. In a statement, Nelson County Jailer Justin Hall identified the inmate as Jawan McKnight. Police said McKnight is wanted for multiple warrants, including trafficking meth. Officials warn not to approach him if seen.
