A new development in a 2024 missing person case in Breckinridge County has turned into a death investigation, after human remains found have been identified as to belonging to 64 year-old Evelyn Blake of Glen Dean.
According to press release from the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, remains recovered on March 9, 2025 in the area of Glen Dean were identified through DNA analysis by the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation has been a collaborative effort between the Breckinridge County Coroner, Kentucky Forensic Laboratory, Kentucky Medical Examiner’s office, and the University of Tennessee Anthropological Research Facility. The Sheriff’s office received the confirmation Tuesday (7/21). Sheriff Billy Richardson said the family was notified immediately upon the receipt of the information.
The investigation into the death of Evelyn Blake remains active and ongoing. At the present time, manner and cause of death remain under investigation and investigator are pursuing all available leads.
