
Owensboro Police Department officials say a woman is in jail after a shooting that took place shortly before midnight on Sunday.
According to a press release, officers were dispatched to a reported firearm discharge in the 600 block of Dalton Street.
Officials say while officers were responding, dispatch received a second call from the victim, who reported she had been shot and was on her way to the hospital.
A preliminary investigation showed that an 18-year-old female, later identified as Kalie Evans, fired a weapon into a vehicle occupied by four people following an argument, hitting a 19-year-old female.
The victim was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, where she was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Evans turned herself in to Owensboro Police detectives and was arrested and charged with the following:
Tampering with Physical Evidence
Assault in the Second Degree
Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree (3 counts)
Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree
She is being held in the Daviess County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.
