Four firefighters suffered heat exhaustion Wednesday while battling a fire that broke out on the roof of a warehouse near Okolona in Louisville.
According to Okolona Fire Chief Mark Little, crews responded around 2:30 p.m. to a fire on the roof of Grainger Industrial Supply after a solar panel caught fire.
It became a three-alarm fire because firefighters needed additional help. Crews encountered issues battling the fire due to the solar panel being about halfway on the structure, according to Little.
The heat also was a problem for crews.
Little said one firefighter, among the four who suffered heat exhaustion, was hospitalized. Everyone evacuated the building in time, and no one else was injured.
It is unknown how the solar panel caught fire.
