This week, a woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison more than three years after a fatal crash in Louisville.
Rosemary Cundiff, 37, was sentenced Monday in Jefferson Circuit Court. She entered a guilty plea in July.
Judge Ann Bailey Smith sentenced Cundiff to five years for second-degree manslaughter and five years for first-degree wanton endangerment, ordered to run consecutively for a total of 10 years to serve, according to court documents.
Under the plea agreement, Cundiff agreed to not ask for probation.
The charges stem from an August 11, 2023, crash on St. Andrews Church Road. The preliminary investigation indicated Cundiff’s vehicle crossed over the centerline and hit a van, killing 67-year-old Ibro Durmic, according to Louisville Metro Police Department.
Cundiff was first indicted on charges of murder, vehicular homicide while under the influence, and first-degree wanton endangerment before reaching the plea agreement to amend the homicide charge, according to court documents.
