Members of Brandenburg City Council set upcoming tax rates during a special called meeting Monday(9/21) afternoon.
The council heard the second reading of ordinance setting the tax rate for real and personal property and a compensating rate of .176 cents per $100 of accessed value. The council discussed their several options and resulted in the council voted unanimously to keep the tax rate the same. The council heard and approved an amended ordinance which kept the real property tax rate at 0.172 cents per $100 on accessed value and 0.3206 cents per $100 of accessed value.
The council also approved the second reading of ordinance setting keeping the tax rate for motor vehicle and watercraft at 32.80 cents of $100 of accessed value, which keeps the rate unchanged.
