School Board Hears Test Date Review
Secondary Instructional Supervisor Kellianne Wilson presented an overview of the 2015 test data to the Meade County School Board at their regular monthly meeting Tuesday (10/13) evening. Each school is rated in one of three categories. Three of the 8 schools in the district was rated Distinguished, 4 was rated Proficient and only 1 Needs Improvement. The district overall fell short by only 0.3 of a point from receiving a Distinguished rating. I-65 Widening Contract Awarded
A construction contract to complete the widening of Interstate 65 has been awarded to Scotty’s Contracting and Stone LLC of Glasgow. Scotty’s Contracting submitted the low bid of $68.6 million, some $11 million below the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s own estimate, for the job of widening I-65 from Sonora to the Western Kentucky Parkway interchange at Elizabethtown.
