A study is currently underway to identify a safer, more efficient and more reliable route between Hodgenville and Interstate 65 near Glendale. Now is the time for citizens to provide input as Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Officials and local stakeholders consider options to improve the connection.
The study is a joint effort between Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Lincoln Trail Area Development District. It will consider multiple options including a new corridor near the I-65/KY 222 interchange to Lincoln Parkway, extending Ring Road from US 31W to Lincoln Parkway, and improvements along the current KY 84 route from I-65 to Lincoln Parkway.
A report will be prepared documenting and summarizing the events of the study. The report will also provide pertinent technical and environmental analyses, document evaluation results and public input. It will serve as a record of the project and a recommendation of feasible alternatives for the next stage of project development.
To gather public input, a meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 27th at the First Baptist Church Christian Fellowship Center at 730 Tonieville Road in Hodgenville from 5 until 7pm. The meeting will be an open-house format with representatives from Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the project consultant, Parsons Brinckerhoff, available to answer questions.
Citizens should realize there is currently no funding available for the project beyond this study, meaning there is no timetable established for any future construction work. This project is in an early development stage. Now is the time to provide input.
