A man found shot to death inside an Elizabethtown apartment early Wednesday morning has been identified.
The Hardin County Coroner said 22 year-old Wendell Jones, died of a gunshot wound to the chest. Police were called to an apartment building in the 600 block of Westport Road at 12:24 am on a report of shots fired. They located a man with a gunshot wound.
An Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman said the officers tried to provide medical aid along with EMS personnel, but Jones was pronounced dead on the scene by the Hardin County Coroner.
Police believe the shooting happened in the apartment where Jones was found. They have not released any information about a suspect or suspects in the case.
