A two vehicle accident claimed the life of a Edmonson County man. According to Kentucky State Police, the accident happened Sunday morning near Leitchfield on Highway 259 South, known as Annetta Road around 11:30 CST.
Dakota Powell age 20 of Bee Springs was traveling south in a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse in the 9,000 block of Highway 259 when he lost control of his car on a patch of ice. Powell’s car slid sideways into the northbound lane and was struck in the passenger side by a northbound vehicle driven by 30 year-old Danny Kennemore of Leitchfield.
Powell was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grayson County Coroner. Kennemore along with his passengers, 26 year-old Jamie Kennermore and a juvenile male were taken to Twin Lakes Regional Hospital by Grayson County EMS for their minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
